So we've obtained a copy of a lawyer's letter to NBC-10 over the attempt to air the Smukler ad.
Youch.
There are some very, um, strong statements underlined and in bold. Let's just say the province of the ad -- and whether or not the groups that were paying to air it are violating the campaign finance law -- are the least of its claims.

Wow, I assume this is a brand new ad that hasn't been discussed? That is some pretty serious stuff.

What a bunch of hooey. Knox and his paid thugs are now intimidating news stations.
Gee, I wonder if they have been doing this to the print media all along?
WPVI and WCAU. Man up and run the ad. Do not bow to this man's intimidation tactics.

Let the Ad run, after all knox lied and mistated his positions on his propganda commercials and he teams up with Earth's Biggest Ego and smallest brain, Jonny "I love myself" Doc
Let the ad run -freedom of speech - let the voters decide

This is a preview of the Knox administration. A world where the first amendment can be stifled with a "scary letter" and the democratic process can be purchased for a mere 7 or 10 million dollars (depending on which day you talk to this clown)
Stop "papa knox" before he turns Philadelphia into his own personal dictatorship.

I have indeed been resisting the urge to relink the ad, and you caught me. I think my point has been pretty clear.
But the ad is here if you want to see it.

The ad states nothing different than what was in the Philly Mag article. The rosen letter, like the rest of his work, is shallow and without merit.
Nonetheless, WPVI and WCAU folder their hand. Those two stations need to have an attorney who actually knows what they're doing.

Sorry about the re-linking. I think you're probably right about the "free publicity" angle. I just hadn't remembered where the h-word came into the picture... now I do.

It's so obvious Brady is connected to these 527's.
