A pleasant coincidence places this article in today's Daily News on the same day that we release our latest episode of Issues Forum, which happens to deal with violent crime.

The homicide-by-gun crisis - police blame bullets for about 87 percent of this year's 224 slayings - was linked to one common-sense concept yesterday at a University of Pennsylvania seminar.
Gun density.
"Any population that has a high amount of guns will also face a high amount of homicides," said Penn criminologist Lawrence Sherman after the university's lengthy seminar on gun violence.
So... short term: do what we can to get guns off the streets. Long term, figure out a way to make it so that folks don't experience the level of desperation or hopelessness that leads them to turn to crime in the first place.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Article submission is an extremely powerful process and too be honest I am not sure wether i agree with doing it automatically. My current SEO stratergys for article marketing are fairly simple. I outsouce an article to be written by a professional english writer, the article must contain at least 1,200 words and be of extremely high quality. Next i will submit it to the top 20 article websites based on Page Rank and traffic. After submitting the articles i will then do some basic backlinking and bookmarking to make sure they get indexed by the search engine spiders. I find that doing article marketing this way works extremely effective however i suppose that having the software submit less quality articles to the less dominant websites and then submit to the ones manually that you can't use a tool for with your quality article because at the end of the day quality backlinks never hurt anyone.

I am always sating hotels and the difference in quality and customer service still amazes me. I have done a lot of travelling through business and pleasure and the difference to me between a nice stay and a great stay is welcoming staff. There is nothing worse than checking into a hotel to find that the staff can't even really be bothered to servce you and show you too your room. I have also stayed at hotels where items of my personal belongings have gone missing after the maids have gone through the place.
