I know he did a bad, bad thing, but is this fair:
Kemp, the highest-ranking city official convicted in the probe, is serving a 10-year prison term for taking cash, trips and other gratuities in exchange for official favors.
Hawkins was convicted of fraud and perjury and was sentenced to 33 months. Holck and Umbrell were convicted on fraud and corruption charges and sentenced to 28 and 27 months, respectively. Janice R. Knight, White's paramour, was convicted of lying to the FBI and got 5 1/2 months.
Hawkins, Holck, Umbrell and Knight have remained free pending appeal.

Trust was destroyed. Besides a Federal Court said no lullaby will be sang over corruption. The above wanted recreation and a type of wear , now that they have it. Is the government wrong for attempting to resolve " Pay To Play Dopes ".

I think that everyone can agree that Corey Kemp was crucified. The question is, why was his punishment greater than that imposed on those around him?
If we seek to eradicate corrpution, random imposition of unequal measures does nothing except bolster those who think they can beat the system.

Is it fair? Is this a High School? Our social order is maintained by public servants. He was a member of the government of the people of Philadelphia and one of the highest ranking in a critical position to oversee billions of dollars in expenditures, contracts, capital investments in our infrastructure and key financial relationships with the banking industry. His corruption is multiplied many times over because he was a high ranking government official. While those around committed the crime together, they were not in a position to adversely affect our reputation in the business community, by bond rating services which will cost us more in taxes to borrow badly needed money to pay for new high schools, etc. Mr. Kemp's position allows him to be open to bribery time and time again as the city treasurer, degrading the integrity of business dealings and warding off good faith offers and opportunities that do not want to be caught up in illegal transactions for fear of going to jail. How far the damage goes to the unmet needs of our city of millions far exceeds the damage done to the share value of commerce bank stock, its shareholders or the personal life of a paramour. Too God Damn Bad! This city will either work itself honestly out of its noted reputation for greedy, stupid short sighted political operators or collapse as a failed state in some god forsaken third world status under the weight of murder, drug dealing and a bottomless pit official municipal corruption.
