Anne Ha is a Kensington resident and is a senior at Temple University majoring in broadcast journalism. She is a member of the Asian American Journalist Association. After graduation, she hopes to be a full-time on-air reporter and produce a local Vietnamese news show for the Philadelphia region. Ann will be talking to Michael Nutter and voters around Philadelphia in the morning.

Rachel Falcinelli is a senior broadcasting major at Temple University. She is President of the Temple Society of Professional Journalists, Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Vice President of Order of Omega Honor Society, and a member of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority and Rho Lambda. She is originally from Easton, PA but currently lives in Bensalem. After she graduates in May, she plans to either work in the reporting field or attend law school in the Philadelphia area. Rachel will be talking to Al Taubenberger and find out why some people are voting for him. Rachel will talk to Al about the whether the Republican party can gain any traction in Philadelphia since there has not been a republican mayor in about 50 years. She will be with him day and night to and give readers a sense of what its like to hand out in an underdog candidate’s campaign.

Tiffany Miller is a junior, broadcast journalism major at Temple University. At Temple she is the Vice President of the Society of Professional Journalists and an executive board member of Phi Sigma Sigma. Tiffany is from the Washington D.C. area where she is an Intern at the U.S Department of State. After Tiffany graduates she plans begin a career in the Journalism field. Tiffany’s blog will focus on the state wide judicial races. She will ask voters from various walks of life throughout the city how informed they are on these races. She wants to know why voters don’t seem to know or care who the people are who make some of the most important decisions affecting their lives. Tiffany wants to know what people do when they don’t know the candidates. Will they vote their party or vote for some other reasons? In the last election, a Supreme Court Justice lost her seat; political observers say it was payback from the voters for the legislature voting itself and the judiciary pay raises.

Stephanie Ramirez is a junior at Temple University majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. She aspires to become an international or White House correspondent. Currently, Stephanie is serving an internship at CBS3 Eyewitness News. Stephanie will be talking to voters in Montgomery County about the Commissioner’s Race, which according to pollster Terry Madonna of Franklin and Marshall College, is being watched around the country as a bell weather for national trends.

Dashira Alexis Harris is a graduating senior at Temple University. She is a Broadcast Journalism major, business minor. Originally from Brooklyn, New York she now resides in North Philadelphia. Dashira is the student government representative for Temple Association of Black Journalists and a Temple-News staff writer. She plans to pursue a master’s in international relations and is particularly interested in international and investigative reporting. Dashira will be talking to City Council at Large Candidate David Oh and talking to voters in West Philadelphia and in some of the neighborhoods with large Asian populations. Oh is mounting a significant challenge to incumbent Jack Kelly, whom he accuses of the old guard in Philadelphia City Council…a council that’s more concerned with banning trans fats than focusing on the skyrocketing murder rate. Oh would be the first Asian American council member if elected.

Adam Ford is a Senior Broadcast Journalism major at Temple University. He currently resides in South Philadelphia but has lived in Texas, Connecticut and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Adam is a founding member of the Temple University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and has acted as Secretary, Vice-President, Sergeant-at-Arms and Director of Public Relations. Megan Gaffney is a senior at Temple University majoring in Broadcast Journalism. Prior to her attending Temple, Megan received her associate’s degree in Journalism with distinction from Bucks County Community College. Megan is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She currently resides in the Bucks County area. Megan will be talking to voters in Chalfont, Bucks County about issues that will affect who they vote for in the races for County Commissioner. She will be talking to a local state representative who is not up for re-election about the political situation in Bucks---both issues and the future of the republican stronghold on the county.

Rosemary Olivares is a senior at Temple University majoring in Broadcast Journalism. She is fluent in Spanish and has lived in North Philadelphia for 18 years. She wants to be a reporter after graduation. We'll be posting updates from them throughout the day.

    Kevin F.:

I am always excited to see people under the age of 25 getting involved in the political process in one way or another. I hope this experience for the guest bloggers gives them a greater appreciation for our electoral system. I also hope that by sharing their experiences they will inspire other young people to at least fulfill their civic duty and vote.

    Wendy:
