Currently, the general public is only allowed to testify during four of 65 hearings held on the budget. One of the sessions open to public comment, on the Nutter Administration's tax proposals, was held today. Representatives of several advocacy organizations came to testify. There was just one thing missing-- most of the members of City Council.
The number of Council members present at the hearings fluctuated from a high point of ten to a low of three. The average was somewhere around seven. By my count, only three council members stayed for the entire time- Anna Verna, Wilson Goode, and Bill Green.
I understand that all of the testimony will be entered into the record and members of Council, as well as their staffs, are able to watch the proceeding from their offices. Still, what kind of message does it send when elected officials can't even be bothered to attend one of the few sessions where ordinary citizens are allowed to speak? It really doesn't look good to have people giving testimony to an almost empty chamber.
Now there are only three sessions left where the public will be allowed to testify about Mayor Nutter's budget proposals. Members of City Council need to show a little more interest during these hearings. Low attendance only reinforces the perception that elected officials are not interested in hearing from the general public.

If you are going to ask all these questions, here's another one to ask: how much does the city and state spend in economic development grants and/or tax breaks that are individualized for businesses in the form of incentives annually (from whatever sources or agency they might be derived)?

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I outsouce an article to be written by a professional english writer, the article must contain at least 1,200 words and be of extremely high quality. Next i will submit it to the top 20 article websites based on Page Rank and traffic. After submitting the articles i will then do some basic backlinking and bookmarking to make sure they get indexed by the search engine spiders. I find that doing article marketing this way works extremely effective however i suppose that having the software submit less quality articles to the less dominant websites and then submit to the ones manually that you can't use a tool for with your quality article because at the end of the day quality backlinks never hurt anyone.
