Dan, when the smoke of Super Tuesday clears, get ready to take on the Fox Chase Cancer Center expansion controversy, as that's going to be a huge story. In fact, it's a huge story right now this very moment, but nobody knows it as of yet, thanks to your oversight and that of many others. But to give a good analogy, imagine if this moment in time right now was the night before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Was it a huge story in that moment? Absolutely. But who knew? That's what THIS is. Maybe a little worse. Because in this assault our own government officials are involved, including our new mayor who you continue to think so highly of. But that's about to be coming to a grinding halt.
Anyway, don't let Super Tuesday zap too much out of you, because the Fox Chase Cancer Center expansion controversy is a much much bigger story and will be far more a determinant of where our country's now heading. For if it prevails, Dan, in the wake of that it won't matter who our next president is, only that there will be a huge mess on our hands that we'll have to get out of somehow. Fox Chase is worse than Pearl Harbor. Really? I love Philadelphia's parks, but the sale of a park over some people in the community's objections is not quite the same as an attack by a foreign power that killed thousands and brought the US into the most destructive war in history. Making these kind of arguments does not help the Save Burholme Park people at all. It only makes you appear to have lost all perspective.

Yes, that's what makes this very dangerous, the perception that the Fox Chase Cancer Center v. Burholme Park dispute is smaller than it really is. For this is not simply about saving a small park, Paul. It's about the action of overturning all the laws that make America what it is, from the U.S. Constitution on down. So in that sense it's much bigger than Pearl Harbor -- particularly in that our own government officials are the enemy this time. In this case, from the current president of the U.S. on down.
I was just informed today that approximately four years before the Cancer Center announced its proposal to expand onto neighboring Burholme Park, and around the time of the 2000 election, the entire Bush family met with officials of the Cancer Center there at the Cancer Center itself. No public information is available as to what was discussed, what the meeting was about. But it does go along way in explaining why certain key failsafes have not kicked in by now to put a stop to this mess before it goes any further.
This is a backdoor invasion we're looking at, if you will. And though the enemy in this case is domestic and not foreign, the intended harm is the same nevertheless. It should be noted that Fox Chase Cancer Center's head and the spearheader of the expansion, Dr. Young, is now calling himself "Chancellor" on the 75th anniversary of when Hitler became Germany's chancellor. And if you look at that title he now holds in relation to what is being proposed -- which is to be far more than just the eliminating of a local park -- you'll understand that's no small coincidence. This massive attack on the U.S. in the guise of something appearing "relatively small and innocent" has been being planned out for quite some time, far longer than was the planned attack on Pearl Harbor.
And it's a well-calculated attack on the very city where this nation as we now know it all began. If it succeeds, and right now everything is pointing that way, you will realize in hindsight that I made no exaggerations.
I'm trying to be very patient with this, allowing others to see what I'm seeing as well. But in that regard it's getting very much down to the wire now.
This coming Friday (February 8, 2008) at 2 P.M. at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Center, the Fairmount Park Commission will hold a special public meeting where it will discuss the proposal of allowing Burholme Park to expand onto by the Cancer Center. To be completely rigged in the Cancer Center's favor, it is hoped it will represent the final blow that will enable the Cancer Center to go the next step. If it does go that next step, this business of Super Tuesday and all else which we've been heavily distracted by over the past several days won't matter one iota. Barack Obama has promised us "change," and this should help clarify what that change he speaks of will be. It will be an all new America where all the rights, privileges and protections we enjoy now will be memories. No matter who becomes the next president.
To be sure, it will place the Fox Chase Cancer Center on the global map like it's never been before, but only as a shear and total nightmare. For this isn't about researching and treating cancer, Paul and all others; it IS a cancer.
And don't just take my word for it. Look into this for yourselves, and you'll see what I'm talking about. With its being all so out-of-sight/out-of-mind right now, this is a very dangerous thing we're looking at here.
As for the park itself, by its being in its path of planned destruction, that's just a sort of alarm-bell sounder, nothing more -- like something the burglar accidentally knocks over and which makes a lot of noise as he enters your house.
