    New spots for the casinos?

Heard in the Hall has a rundown of the possible new locations.

Also, check out Casino-Free Philadelphia's principals for resiting.

A few months ago, Sen. Vince Fumo said that he offered the casinos $50 million to relocate. It will be interesting to see if taxpayers are forced to pay Foxwoods and/or Sugarhouse to make resiting happen.

    JD:

Foxwoods should seriously consider teaming with the developer for the current "Spectrum" site at Broad and Pattison. Foxwoods could have their casino right in the hub of the existing "Sports Complex," plus capitalize on the new commercial development activities, there! Also, this site is barely more than 10 miles from the other casino in Chester, yet still fairly close to the airport, and other major acces routes from PA, NJ and even Delaware... Got for it!

    PA:

The casinos have already invested well over $250 million (land, licenses, studies, design fees, litigation, etc.) in the existing sites. Who is going to buy those sites from them and reimburse them for those costs?

Do you expect them to just donate those sites/money to the city? If they do move locations, then the three losers will be in court to have the existing licenses revoked and the whole selection process will have to start all over adding another $250 Million to the cost.

It's going to cost the taxpayers a lot more than $50 Million. We as tax payers are already losing $4.5 Million per month (thats $54 million per year)in lost gaming taxes. Remember the state and city get over 54% of the gaming revenues.

We are already paying in lost government services!
