Any word on the impact of busted machines in 179th? So far it looks like lots of good sabre-rattling, but no blows to the heart of the machine. Rats. I hate urban politics. Elsewhere in PA, Jubilerer and Brightbill are getting hammered. Most other incumbents seem to be doing okay, with a few exceptions. Including one Teresa Forcier, an R who voted against the pay raise. Anyone got that backstory? We have heard that as many as 200 or 300 of 3,000 machines broke down across the city. The problem seems to be related to the paper that tallies the vote, and screws that may have been too tight. Voters could use provisional ballots but we have reports that some gave up. We'll post more tonight and have a report in tomorrow's Daily News. Posted by: Wendy at May 16, 2006 10:42 PMWow. Graboyes in 3rd. Who would have thought? It seems the democractic machinery as lost its tough (given the number of kingmaker endorsements Graboyes nabbed). Too bad Dicker didn't make it to the top. But the results speak volumes about the viability progressive, more independent candidates like Dicker. Posted by: christopher at May 16, 2006 10:50 PMWhat's up with those last 12 divisions in 175!?!? I want to go to bed! Posted by: thomast at May 16, 2006 11:06 PMagreed, thomast. and the PA dept. of state site is even slower!!! http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/ElectionReturns.aspx?control=CountyReturns&ElecID=12&CountyID=51 Posted by: christopher at May 16, 2006 11:08 PMthomast, I think you might as well sleep. We probably won't get another report tonight. If we do, we will certainly post it... Posted by: Wendy at May 16, 2006 11:25 PMDid Farnese concede yet? Pohlig, we are putting the band back together. Are you in? Posted by: Pullano at May 16, 2006 11:42 PMHey Pullano, As for Farnese, I heard through the grapevine that his people aren't too confident in their victory. Send me an email or something.
