Oh no, my young Blogger. You will find that it is you who are mistaken about a great many things.

Yesterday in this interesting piece by Catherine Lucey, she described a recent summit between State Senator Vince "The Emperor" Fumo and three local bloggers.

For now, Fumo says he's willing to host however many bloggers want to come on board.
"I don't mind getting them all along and getting a bigger room, as long as they're legitimate bloggers and not Johnny Doc's guys," he said.

Here's how I envision that larger meeting.

Fumo welcomes the young bloggers and locks the doors (using the force, no doubt) of the "bigger room."

"Yes, I assure you, we are quite safe from your friends here!" he says, turning off the lights with a mere glance at the switch.

"If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed!" exclaims Fumo who does a crazy light show with some force lightning from his fingertips.

Several of the bloggers open their laptops trying in vain to get distress messages to the outside world before remembering that Wireless Philadelphia is still several years away.

"Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen," continues Fumo, "you will pay the price for your lack of vision."

One of the bloggers raises his hand to make the point that they've been complaining about the lack of vision on the part of the Democratic machine all along. Fumo removes it with his light saber. Staring at the spot that will soon become his prosthetic hand, the young blogger is reminded that Philly politics is "more machine than man, twisted and evil."

"Young fool. Only now, at the end, do you understand," says Fumo who with a wave of his hand sends all of the bloggers' laptops flying across the room simultaneously deleting all of their past emails (especially the "incriminating ones").

"Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Now, young bloggers...your servers will die." Years of reform ideas, essays on organizing, calls to action, rants about politicians and suggestions for the Phillies batting order are instantly wiped out, leaving Fumo's "runningonfumes.blogspot.com" as the last remaining local politics blog in Philadelphia.

Hey, it could happen. Bloggers, remember what Princess Leia said, "Don't! It's a trap!"

And, please, don't tell me that you're reading this blog and you haven't seen Star Wars.

(thanks to Essence of Darkness: The Palpatine/Sidious Shrine for compiling the quotes.)
