Madson, like just about everybody else, will be a key part of the pitching staff and could use a good outing. A shoulder injury ended his season on July 30 of last season. With the uncertainty surrounding the Phillies starters, Madson likely will be called on quite often.
Getting his first action in the sixth inning of the opener is probably an inning sooner than the Phillies would have liked, however.
After a pair of groundouts and an infield single, Lastings Milledge drills a two-run homer to left. A good bit of the steam has escaped CBP.

all this talk of winning the division & this is how they come out of the gates. myers let the wheels come off, and feliz has been an absolute rally killer. may as well put helms in again.
maybe 09 will be better.

Way to give up after 1/2 of a game, DC. Typical Phillies fan...go root for the Mets, turncoat.

Ah...SO typical for one game to determine how the season will go. Whatever! Feliz has a glove and he's pressing cause of homers like you, who expect every new 3B to be Michael Jack. I'm looking forward to the 162 game season to determine this teams successs.

Ed you can be happy being a loser, but 28 years of no championships is not acceptable to me.
you're right typical philly fan- we know our stuff, get fired up, and expect the best.
Mets fans would stay ignorantly optimistic and would ignore the fact that our opening day starter had a complete meltdown. if eatons your 5, myers needs to be better than that.
anyway not pretty but nice comeback so far, go phils. and go flyers.
