Top of the first, 4-0 Red Sox

The Phils are celebrating the 60th anniversary of legendary righthander Robin Roberts' major- league debut on June 18, 1948. Roberts, who threw 305 complete games, threw out the first pitch to Cole Hamels and probably wanted to finish the game.

Jacoby Ellsbury starts it off with a single to right. The Bosox stole six bases in seven tried last night and probably will be looking to run early.

Ellsbury stays put as Dustin Pedroia follows up with a single to right. Phils starter Kyle Kendrick has his first flaming bag.

J.D. Drew hits his 13th homer of the season as the Bosox jump out early. Mike Lowell hits one deep into the leftfield seats. It's the ninth time the Sox have gone back-to-back, most times in the majors. Hope you had the overs.

And on pitch No.21, Kendrick gets his first out of the game -- a soft grounder to second off the bat of Sean Casey. The CBP crowd gives a derisive cheer. The Bosox go quietly from there.

Joe:

Why is Carlos Ruiz playing today? He played last night and today is a day game, shouldn't he be given the day off. And when is Charlie gonna realize that Coste can manage the pitchers just as well as Ruiz, but that Coste can actually hit the ball. Please play Coste more often.
