There was hope this season of an early contract settlement with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra, but that chance is all but gone now. Insiders say that no talks are scheduled until the week before opening night, in September. Expect a new pact to pick up where the last one left off, with more changes in work rules and greater flexibility for management.
