Toe Injury Sidelines WIlliams For Tonight's Game

Lou Williams said on Saturday that he fell on his shoulder and head but he’s out for tonight’s game with the Houston Rockets due to a small fracture in his big right toe.
Williams is listed as day to day and said before tonight’s game that he hopes to return Wednesday at the Wachovia Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He was hurt while driving the lane in Saturday’s 105-77 win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Williams was leveled by New York’s David Lee with 3 minutes and 30 seconds left in the third quarter.
He hit one of two free throws and left the game for good 38 seconds later. After the game Williams said he landed on his head and shoulder and never mentioned the toe.
“My head and shoulder are fine,” he said before tonight’s game with Houston. “I had trouble walking and told K.J. it’s probably not right.”
K.J. is Sixers trainer Kevin Johnson.
Williams said on Sunday morning the foot swelled up and and x-ray revealed a small fracture.
When asked how the toe feels, Williams said, “It feels great and I can flex it. Right now we’re saying day to day and I’ll try to go Wednesday.”

Watching this team without Lou Will is like watching paint dry -- boring, boring, boring. He just brings so much excitement and does so much for this team when he is on the floor, taking him away, even for a game, just makes everyone else seem like a bunch of role players and he's the only true one with star potential.

I hope this isn't the type of injury that lingers. What was the deal with Shavlik tonight? Did he have a setback or something?

If he did, then they just need to shut him down until he is healthy. Being on the bench is no way to impress a new GM and remain in the NBA, especially for a fringe player like Shav.

Craig:

I hear you, truth, but tonight's not that kind of night, there were plays all over the place. Did you miss Iggy's slam? Or how 'bout Sammy with the tough "D" on Yao? Or the fast break 3s? Tonight was exciting because you may be seeing the start of something good. Yes, I said it. 38 wins this year...minimum!

I think Mo was just looking for a little more length to combat Yao. I didn't mind Booth. I would have deactivated Amundson instead of Shav.
