Chef de cuisine Daniel Marcantuno is bowing out of Brasserie Perrier next Friday (4/4) as he's trading a commute from the western reaches of Chester County for a veritable hop, skip and jump to Brandywine Prime in Chadds Ford. Marcantuno had been at BP since 1999.
New chef de cuisine is Perry Katsapis, who was chef/co-owner Chris Scarduzio's roommate at the Culinary Institute of America. Katsapis, raised in Upper Darby, most recently had worked out west.
Brasserie Perrier recently changed its menu to something a tad closer to brasserie.
Scarduzio says he feels confident leaving Katsapis in charge at BP, as Scarduzio will be focusing on Table 31, the new Scarduzio-Georges Perrier joint at the Comcast Center. Scarduzio today wiggled a bit when I asked for Table 31's opening date. For months, he's been saying "May 2." He said, "May 2 ... the 16th at the latest."
In other BP news, its cafe is moving out of Boyds men store. (Not "your local Boyds -- the only Boyds.") Its last day will be Saturday (3/29). Boyds' new upstairs occupant will be a sushi bar, I hear.

We had a meal at BP soon after the menu change. It was not impressive. I would not characterize the menu as "something a tad closer to brasserie", but rather high priced American Diner with hamburgers etc. Needless to say my wife and I were disappointed enough that we will probably not go back
