Here they are, Mayor Nutter's just-named members of the board that will oversee the operation of PGW:
Today Mayor Nutter announced his appointments to the Board of Philadelphia Facilities Management Corporation (PFMC): Gerald Davis, Maryam Mahdavi, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, Pedro Rivera, David Seltzer, Seth Shapiro and Hal Sorgenti. Mayor Nutter has asked David Seltzer to serve as Chairman of the Board. “I am flattered to be given this opportunity by Mayor Nutter. I know the board will try to bring the same objectivity, dedication and fresh thinking to overseeing PGW that have already become a hallmark of the new Nutter Administration,” said Mr. Seltzer.PFMC, a non-profit corporation, operates and manages Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) under a contract with the City of Philadelphia. The seven member board is appointed by the Mayor and its responsibilities, as set forth in a Management Agreement between the City and PFMC, make PFMC responsible for all operations of PGW through an executive management team including a chief executive officer, a chief operating officer, and a chief financial officer.
“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to David Hyman for his great service to the board over the years. During his tenure as chairman, PGW experienced a period of successful reorganization and stabilization,” said Mayor Nutter. “I would also like to thank Reverend Thomas Ritter for his many contributions as a member of the board.”
“PGW is well poised to be a national leader in the new energy market and I look forward to great expertise and leadership that these seven individuals will bring to the board,” said Mayor Nutter.
PGW provides gas service to 500,000 residential customers and 19,000 industrial and commercial users in Philadelphia. PGW is the larget municipally-owned gas utility in the country.

These appointments are to the "PGW Board." The Gas Commission is different and consists of five members. One of them is the City Controller, an independent elected official. The Mayor appoints two members, and City Council appoints the other two.
