Remember these jeans that I wanted so bad? The ones from Seven for All Mankind that were $175 and inspired oohs and aahs at the Image fall fashion shoot? I couldn't stop thinking about them - so last week I set out to order them from Shopbop, the only place I could find them (apparently the Ginger pant in the Naples wash is sold out at some stores).
Sounds great, right? A fashion dream fulfilled? Unfortunately, no. When my package arrived, I eagerly slipped the Sevens on, envisioning how fab their silvery sheen would look with my planned fall outfits. And....the results were far less than anticipated.
It's not that the jeans looked bad. Or worse, that I looked fat (as my poor fiance tried to explain, after I interpreted the silence greeting my "how do I look" query? He then spent the rest of the night backpedaling, but at that point, I didn't want to hear it.) They just looked...eh.
And for $175, I want my jeans to look hot with two t's. I want people to ask me if I've lost weight. I want people begging me to know what brand they are (hey, these reactions can happen. I get them all the time when I wear my straight-leg black Joe Jeans. Best $150 I ever spent).

So the Sevens are going back to Shopbop. But my fashion disappointments didn't stop there. In the Image fall fashion spread, A.D. Amorosi chronicled the trendiness of the Something Blue nail polish from China Glaze. As a soon-to-be bride, I figured I could use this as my "something blue" and gave a similar Tiffany shade a test drive.
Sounds great, right? Again....the results were disappointing. The blue polish looked odd against my fair skin, making my feet seem even pastier than normal. Just all out wrong - and definitely not the look I was trying for.
