Strong start at Kimmel

KimmelCentr-G.Widman.JPG
Anne C. Ewers, the Kimmel Center’s new CEO, starts officially next Monday on some good news, thanks to her predecessor Janice C. Price. Kimmel Center Inc. says today that its endowment fund grew in value in the past year by a roughly third, from about $30 million to $40 million. Its pro-forma results show a $900,000 surplus for the past fiscal year on a budget of $35.5 million. But don’t spend it yet — the exact surplus may change in the audited results. Last year’s $1.2 million surplus pro-forma result became $800,000 after the audit.
