Now that's a jumbo jet

After last weekend's problems with weather and US Airways computer problems at PHL, you may not want to take another flight for awhile. But why not dream a little, and think about what it would be like to ride on a 600-passenger jet. Check out today's print and online story about the first U.S. flight of the Airbus 380 jet here

Yes that is one huge jet...I wonder how much bigger they will get. Do you know what the price tag is on them?

Matt:

I haven't heard a single word about if PHL is a candidate for an A380 from any airline.

I *think* the main runways have enough strength but I have not read about anyone modifying any gates to accommodate one.

An aircraft like this would be great but I'm sure US has no plans to get any, unless maybe they get the Shanghai route. The other majors would be long shots too. Mabye BA would fly one to LHR or AF to CDG, but I doubt it.
