Question
Is the FAA really dong this for delays or because they do not have the controllers to handle the operations at the airport?
A controller can only handle so many operations because they are on restricted timing between takeoffs and landings. So I guess if they turn them quicker and get them out of their airspace they can use less controllers.
But then when they hand them off to another radar sector there are only so many miles in that sector that a controller can use to separate the planes. You see some radar facilities are trying to combine up radar sectors and maybe take 3 radar sectors and divide it in to 2 radar sectors. This is helping staffing issues for the FAA but the flying public doesn't know that this is a disaster waiting to happen.
Or is it because they want to close the NY ARTCC Center and divide it in half and put half in with the Boston ARTCC and the other half into Washington ARTCC. I guess after combining the NY TRACON's and the ARTCC Center into one place on Long Island they now think it may be a problem. Possible terrorist attach?
But yet here in Florida that is what they are doing. Look at my website www.faahope.com. Here again it is a disaster waiting to happen and no one knows.
