Tough, indeed! But, I am interested in comparing the on-time statistics for other airlines operating from PHL to determine if this is an ongoing pattern or an anomaly isolated to US Air.

Whenever I have voiced concern regarding the performance of my particular flight to the Arlington-based airline's personnel, I have been given a mostly stock reply which amounted to blaming PHL and it's own infrastructural shortcomings for the shortcomings of my own expectations. One respondent to my jetway departing complaint came across more 'lawyered-up' than a Wall Street banker at an IPO closing. "Write the mayor!", she snapped.

Perhaps the infrastructure could be better engineered, or perhaps the workflow could be better designed, or perhaps the personnel training could be better administered, or, perhaps...ad infinitum.

In fairness to the airline of Reynolds Tobacco pedigree, some of the time based chaos could have been the product of all the other airline operations in a confined space.

In fairness to those of us who fly from PHL a lot, I am going to write the mayor.
