The competition in the PHL-Boston air-travel market is about as strong as it gets these days. Besides US Airways to Logan, Delta's Comair commuter unit will start flights in November. Southwest keeps the pressure on fares with flights to nearby Providence and Manchester while avoiding Logan congestion. AirTran now has given up, saying it was losing money.
