I don't get how we should award these failed management teams for running their business models into the ground. Northworst is in trouble because they have been too cheap to get rid of all those fuel-burning DC9s that just cost too much to operate. Delta is getting wiped out because it has hubs in odd places (SLC, Cincinnati?) and it can't control prices on ATL domestic traffic because of Air Tran. So these management teams - one that used to run Northworst and one that now runs Northworst, get big paychecks for conceding that they failed?
If this goes through, say goodbye to the Cincinnati hub, and probably Memphis hub also. Both of these carriers have to remove a lot of cost from their structures - weren't they supposed to do that in bankruptcy??????
I just don't see how this helps us customers.
