Sources say it's time to brace yourself because it's really happening this time. Read an AP story from this morning.

Alex Wong:

It is a risky time if you're travelling on business. I have a business trip in May, booked a month ago, where I'll be flying on Frontier Airlines (I normally use American or United but the schedule and price fit better for this particular trip). I have used them in the past and they were pretty good. But I am a little concerned.

Now, the traveler gets squeezed again with the Delta/NWA merger. The USAir/America West merger was done poorly IMHO. Their online systems are still behind times (can't select seat assignment on some flights because of incompletely merged systems). I don't hold high expections with this latest merger.

Now , maybe Delta Airlines can go back to E terminal with Northwest Airlines. I hope the airlines have a pre-nup agreement..YHS
