Does anyone have any knowledge or perspective on purchased ticket-as-contract? What I mean is, how much can the airline change the terms after tickets are purchased? For instance, If I buy a ticket in April for July transit on Airline X , and that includes 2 pieces luggage. Then, in June, Airline X imposes a fee for each piece over one. If I bought the ticket before that new rule was implemented I SHOULD be able to get 2 pieces checked free, based on the terms agreed at purchase. But I suspect they will charge. In any other field, that would be not be permissable. Is there any discussion around that?
TOM REPLIES: An excellent question, Bob, and we'll ask the airlines for an answer when we have a moment after dealing with airline merger news.
