Inquirer staff photographer Michael Perez perfectly captured the end of the summer's first heat wave. Click on his photo to see a slide show of more weather photos by Inquirer photographers over the past four days.

Perez was responding to his instincts a news photographer. Even though he was working the night shift, seated at a computer filling in as the sports photo editor, when the storm hit he ran outside and photographed the lightning strikes from our parking garage. Here's one that "got away." The bolt was so hot it was completely overexposed.
