Working on a new piece. I don't know why I didnt take pictures of the progress sooner.
This is all done with acrylics and rubbing alcohol. I have lost count, but I would say it probably has about 6 layers of color with clear coats in between each.
This is just the background. Going to add some more elements after sanding.

Love the random layers of paint sealed between successive layers of clear coats. Usually gives a 3-D effect....Modern Masters also has a activator/ glaze that when splashed onto wall/board and left for a short period of time then carefully wiped off will leave interesting stone like effects: pits. Is sample being done for a up and coming project? If so, it's going to be beautiful.

Thanks Sandra.
The piece is suppose to be for a fundraiser. But that could always change.
Have been doing this technique for years on furniture. It doesnt take long to create some depth.
For vertical surfaces, you might try those waterless cleaners like Purell. They contain alot of alcohol which will dissolve acrylics. They are thick enough to not run like rubbing alcohol.
Planning to post more progress pictures.
