Sunday Show and Asian Icandy

Just a reminder. The DuPont Country Club show is Sunday the 7th from 10 - 4. It is located on Rockland Road in Wilmington DE. There is a $4 ticket charge to attend.

I did complete a couple of small pieces using the similar technique for the one I did for the filming of That's Clever and will be bringing them along.

Finalizing some products for the Asian Icandy store. I had made an inquiry a few weeks ago about how to be one of their artists. They liked the geishas on my website. Some of them will be available as prints the end of the month/beginning of next.

Illustration Friday - "Open"

open%20for%20if.jpg
Topic for this week's Illustration Friday is "Open". Please go to Illustration Friday and vote for my entry. Open, a bookstore and art gallery in Long Beach, California in Long Beach, California is sponsoring this week’s topic, “open“, and in a show opening November 3rd — in less than a month — they will display 25 IF entries.

I photoshopped a previous image to have an open bottle of whatever. Originally titled - "It Must Be Over". Of course, the fat lady sings.

Take a look at Shawn McCann's entry. I think he did an excellent job capturing the topic.

Linda and I went to the Philly Biz Ladies Meetup Thursday night at DWR on Walnut. Met Grace Bonney from Design Sponge. She had some good information about PR and marketing.

We also stopped in for a few minutes prior to that at the Philadelphia Open Studio Tour preview at the Freeman Auction House. I saw Kim Senior's wonderful faux mosaic screen at the entrance. Quite a nice sized crowd. Lots of interesting art. The energy of the crowd really pulled and tugged at me. Been online too much. Really need to hit the streets with my portfolio.

Original Art for 99

3-retroglam.jpg2-retroglam.jpg

First image - Roberta. Second image - Julie
A bit ago, I answered an ad on Craigslist. Jeff Frederick was starting up a new website called Original Art for 99. All the artwork on it is an affordable $99 (plus shipping).

I have been doing a series that I refer to as retro chics and putting them in my Etsy shop Had been thinking about expanding the idea, so decided to do a series of the retro chics in black dresses -- retro glam.

They are done in acrylics -- interference gold with a tinted glaze in the background on gallery wrapped canvas -- 7x12x1-1/2 -- and ready to hang. They all have stories like the other paintings. You need to click on the images to read their stories. Hope you enjoy.

Creature Comforts Holiday Gift Guide

Was browsing the Switchboards when I saw an offer by Creature Comforts for free ad space in their holiday gift guide.

Have seen alot of advertising by indie designers on the blogs I visit -- and have thought about doing the same for myself. Felt this was a good way to test the waters. So here is my ad which is found under art & collectibles. Many thanks to Heather from Creature Comforts for her offer.
