Noel Update

The Tropical Storm Noel, forecast to wring out up to 20 inches of rain, has been blamed for at least 20 deaths in the Dominican Republic.

At last report, the storm was centered the eastern tip of Cuba, with top winds just over 50 m.ph. Here is the latest National Hurricane Center forecast discussion.

As so many of its predecessors this season, once it again it looks as though this one will spare the U.S. mainland.

It is still forecast to track northeastward out into the open North Atlantic, passing northwest of Bermuda. Here is the track forecast.
