Almanac, Nov. 28

Late-autumn warmth is an imperfect indicator of the winter to come, but it was arguably a perfect one in 1990.

On this date in 1990, the temperature reached a record 71, part of a warm spell that spilled into December.

The only significant snow, 6-plus inches, occurred a few days after Christmas, and it didn’t hang around very long as January became quite mild.
