Almanac, Dec. 7

For the second time in December, the temperature soared above 70 on this date in 2001, hitting a record 72 at Philadelphia International Airport.

On 13 of the first 15 days of December 2001, the temperature went above 50.

The warmth was indicative of what was to come. That winter, a mere 4.0 inches was measured at the airport.
