At 10, light snow was reported in Harrisburg, Lancaster, Baltimore and Washington, and flakes will be coming to a neighborhood near you very soon.
Here is the latest radar image from Intellicast.com, which shows a menacing blob of blue. Be advised that some of the snow depicted by the blue shading might not be reaching the ground.
The forecast calls for about an inch, perpahs a touch more, around Philly, and maybe up to 2 in Delaware and South Jersey before it ends late tonight.
This would be the first measurable snow of the season, and you should be able to handle it with leaf-blower, a broom and a bag of Kitty Litter.
That said, here are a few cautionary notes:
Few drivers have had any snow-driving experience this season, which means you’ll see the usual assortment of those who refuse to believe anything is different and those who believe that the speed limits have been reduced to 5 m.p.h.
Also, because of the incredibly late leaf-fall and the early-week wind storm, some roads may be littered with patches of leaves that become quite dangerous when wet.
It doesn't take much snow or ice to turn the region's roads into a version of Winter Blunderland.
Otherwise, enjoy the show, however modest.
