The Phillies honored Boyz II Men last night at Citizens Bank Park.
Congratulations to them.
But I have to admit, I didn't even know they were still together. (It's been a long time since End of the Road.) But sure enough, they're on tour this summer.
The good vibes of the night ended shortly thereafter. Everybody that stuck around for the game -- which was everybody -- watched the Detroit Tigers crush the Phillies, 12-8. Jon Lieber got rocked after throwing a shutout Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. And once again the Phillies wasted a nice offensive night because of poor pitching.

Charlie Manuel said the Phillies are thinking about a four-man rotation through the all-star break.
Could it happen?
The Phillies have three off days -- June 21, June 25 and July 5 -- that could allow them to skip Kyle Kendrick in the rotation. But the Phillies also have a doubleheader June 29 against the New York Mets, and play a stretch of 10 games June 26 through July 4. I could see them skipping Kendrick once, but I'm not sure how keen they are having Cole Hamels, Adam Eaton, Jamie Moyer and Jon Lieber pitch on just three days rest. Hamels and Eaton have injury histories, Moyer is 44 and the Phillies have had concerns in the past about Lieber wearing down.
But it's worth watching. Kendrick's turn in the rotation comes Tuesday in Cleveland.

Justin Verlander talks about trying for back-to-back no-hitters Sunday against the Phillies.
He hit 102 mph on the radar gun in the ninth inning during his no-hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers.
That's fast.

Todd,
What is the status of Aaron Rowand? He's having a great offensive year and by all accounts is great in the clubhouse, but we don't hear anything resembling extension talks. I know the white sox still covet him. Is he as good as gone this offseason?
