Lohse Hurt

That didn't take long.

Kyle Lohse, making his Phillies debut today, lasted just one inning against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. He allowed two hits, one run and hit two batters. He threw 29 pitches. But Jacque Jones smoked the 29th pitch right back at Lohse. It hit him in his right forearm. He picked up the ball and threw to first to end the inning, but did not return.

He has a contusion.

That's a bruise.

Stay tuned.

you don't want to pitch with a swollen forarm. thats just asking for a tommy johns holiday. He definatly was showing so nerves though....

A contusion? Oh no. Well, it looks like Durbin's back in the rotation.

jay segovia:

I doubt that. They need Lohse to get it going. Its Braves and Mets now. They need wins. Durbin isn't the solution....

Looking past the injury, glad to see Gillick found another gem. You hit two batters in one inning-- who is this clown? John Lannan?

jay segovia:

That line drive looked like it kind of hurt. Tod, are you suggesting that Lohse or manager used it as an excuse to get him out of the game. One run isn't alot no matter how many pitches. Inning two might have been 8 or 9 pitches, and back to normal. Looking around the league, that was hardly the worst performance. Betcha Lohse beats the Marlins next week. Jay
