Pick Myers' Music: For Real This Time

myers%20music%202.JPG

Brett Myers wants YOU to pick his entrance march. That's right, folks. He has narrowed his choices to three, and promised yesterday he will use whatever song the fans decide. But he needs to know by Friday, so vote NOW. And if you're not familiar with a song, click the links below and watch the videos on YouTube.

Which should be Brett Myers' theme song?
"In the Air Tonight" by Nonpoint
"Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva
"Lights Out" by P.O.D.

TJ:

I'm still miffed that he didn't use my White Stripes suggestion - not voting!

TroubleMan:

Yeah these songs are all terrible. Sorry Brett.

Jack White:

I second TJ, not sure what song he suggested but i think it would sound cool for the closer to come out to ICKY THUMP by the stripes

DP:

Ughhh... Myers musical tastes are crap. The best out there are classic tunes with ridiculous intros. His are crap new metal rock that many probably never heard...

Bill:

My god, this music is horrible! I would be embarressed and ashamed to hear this crap as he entered the game. I'm not voting for any of this garbage. Just play AC/DC's "Thunderstruck".

rap sucks:

I agree. I just viewed the results. The third selection is winning by a very large margin. (Although not many people seem to be voting overall. Nothing good to choose from perhaps?) If I have to listen to that horrible rap song every time he enters the game, I will cancel my season tickets. Brett is wearing out his welcome here.

Anonymous:

Everybody needs to relax. I think it's pretty cool that Brett -- no matter what the songs -- is letting us pick his intro music. That said, I chose Saliva's song. I think it'd sound the coolest piped through the stadium.

John in LA:

Brett,

If you're reading this - and what else would you be doing? - the point is to pick a song that people actually... know. Or like. Or have heard before and might actually hear again in a few years. Most of us on the blog have jobs, and don't have the benefit of working at the mall and spending our free time hanging out behind a Wawa - the top two places, incidentally, you'd normally hear a song by POD or Saliva. Try again?

Freddy:

A lot of crusty folks on this board. Man, oh, man ...

He did what?:

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that the video to the Saliva song has women getting hit in the face?

The dude still doesn't get it.

Philly fan:

Booooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing here to vote for.

Chris:

Dear Brett,

Please please PLEASE choose better and different music. I actually don't think these songs are horrible, but you can do better, for chrissakes!!

I actually agree that the White Stripes would probably be an excellent choice. Or something classic would do, too.

Rap would be fine - pick some classic Tupac or Tribe Called Quest or something else.

Thanks,
Troubled Phils phan

Zac:

Guys, Guys, Guys...wouldn't you rather have him come out to a song he gets fired up to for rather than some random fan suggestions? The White Stripes' "Icky Thump" is a very good song, however, I don't think it is intro music worthy. AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" is played in the beginning, middle and end of every game in every ballpark in America (specifically the Trenton Thunder). I don't particularly enjoy any of the songs on the list, but I do believe that all three could be good entry music (more the P.O.D. song because of it's lyrics "lights out, game over, you can check my stats" or whatever)...I just think we shouldn't rip his request and we should vote what ever the best possible song is for him to enter to. By the way, Brett hasn't worn out his welcome and I would love for him to close for us for the next 10-12 years. Also, if this is the reason you are going to cancel your season tickets you are crazy...lack of competitiveness? Not having made the playoffs in 14 years? Lack of getting the big time free-agent? These don't force you to cancel? Get a grip...

Gang Behind WAWA:

Duuuuudes,

You're seriously bringing' us down....

John in LA:

The choices, to me, are like somebody asking you if you're rather get stabbed or set on fire...

a season ticket holder:

If the Phillies front office is stupid enough to allow the wife-beater to play his wife-beating rap music, I will also cancel my season tickets. And I will let everyone know exactly why I canceled. Enough is enough.

Josh:

I hate to say this, but the best closer song I ever heard was "Enter Sandman". It really got everybody pumped up. Unfortunately, none of these songs have that effect. I voted for Saliva because of the lyrics and because it is actually introducing him. Sadly, it is just the best of the available options.

J in Virginia:

Be original. Try the "Mars" selection from Holst's symphony "The Planets". It has power and sounds great played LOUD in a stadium.
