Lineup Shuffle

Charlie Manuel changed his lineup for Game 2:

1. Jimmy Rollins, SS
2. Chase Utley, 2B
3. Pat Burrell, LF
4. Ryan Howard, 1B
5. Aaron Rowand, CF
6. Jayson Werth, LF
7. Wes Helms, 3B
8. Carlos Ruiz, C
9. Kyle Kendrick, P

The beat writers met with Manuel before the game and he explained that he wanted to split up Utley and Howard, and provide some more pop in the lineup with Werth. Werth has hit lefthanders very well this season.

Louis DeVizia:

Good scoop Todd. And good news. Love those right-handed bats mixed in. This Morales kid is new and tough, but the Phils did face him once already, and recently. No surprises. Let's hope that's in the Phils' favor.

It's also nice having Victorino as a speed option late in a close game.

Man, this is a lot on Kendrick's shoulders. He's a pretty cool customer though. Imagine starting a season at AA, then being in this position in October. Wow - legend-making stuff. Go get 'em Kyle.

MR. MET:

I have put a curse on your beloved team.

three games and done.

Tell Philly fanatic I will meet him in the bar next week to drown our sorrow!

We can drink Coors -you know -Rocky Mountain beer!

steve:

Charlie's already sweating - changing the lineup. Nothing says "I've got confidence in my boys" than changing the lineup already!!
GO ROCKIES !!

richard m:

Charlies not sweating. They've been platooning for the last 3 months and truthfully the lineup is much better this way.

MR. MET:

well charlie did say "we have to go out today and lose!"

LoDuca's 19 yr old girlfriend:

Mr. Met, when's your tee time?

Pat H:

Leadoff double,Kendrick gets (2) big outs, intentional walk, little swinging bunt hit, then he goes to a guy who's not used to coming out of pen, Grandslam ! I've been a Charlie guy ! He's pannicking, BIG TIME ! I hope we can compensate, for the manager's blunders !

bobby:

I never dreamed I'd be watching the Phils in the playoffs and see our hopes resting on the shoulders of... Jose Mesa.

Absolutely no way I could put him in the game.

I'd sooner put in Clay Cond...

Um, hold that thought. This is not good.

MR. MET:

My spell is working- ex met matsui doing some serious damage to the flubs of PHILLY!

OK Philly fans- lets say it together"LETS GO FLYERS"!

another Coors light Bartender!

and put it on Lohses tab!

Murph:

I've said it before and I will say it again. Charlie needs to learn how to trust Kendrick.

He didn't have the best stuff but you just knew that Loshe was going to give up something big there. Took the life right out of the ballpark.

Pat H:

Mr Met , wish you were here,we had so much fun, spanking the daylights out of you. We'll dance again . So, lick your wounds, and remember, who loves you...We may have put a hex, on your Muts for life. One more thing, we as Phils fans, are thrilled for Mut fans, that Willie is returning to steer your ship wreck. Obviously, your moving in the right direction. Bring your shovels, Mut fans !
