Live, from the Fishbowl, it's ....

http://greatexpectations07.com/endorsement_interviewsThe candidates.

For mayor.

And for City Council.

The editorial board of The Inquirer is conducting its endorsement interviews for the May primary. They're conducted in the board meeting room, nicknamed the Fishbowl (we're Pisces, working for scale.)

And we're taping them for you to listen in at your convenience via podcast.

Each mayoral candidate will be in during this week or next. We've been doing Council candidates, brought together in debate format, for several weeks now.

Monday, Bob Brady came in. It was quite an hour with this Philadelphia original who would be mayor. He was by turns funny, charming, impassioned, pugnacious and annoyed. He covered everything from his leadership style to his ideas on union negotiations to his advice to out of town lawmakers looking for a good meal in Philly: "You can't go wrong with the La's. La Famiglia, La Veranda, etc."

On Tuesday, First District Councilman Frank DiCicco and challenger Vern Anastasio had a rousing, sometimes heated but generally civil exchange.

Hear them both at: http://greatexpectations07.com/endorsement_interviews

Tom Knox comes in Friday, the rest of the candidates next week. Still to come among Council race podcasts are District 5 and 7.
