What's your zodiac sign?

At house parties back in the day, the dj would grab the mic at the height of the party and ask the crowd what's their zodiac sign. This was a clever way to get the crowd's attention with a really simple call and response technique. As the dj went down the list of astrological signs, the people in the crowd would scream as their sign was called. By the time he would finish, he would have total control of the crowd.

This same concept is applied in a different way at the Zodiac Party, which is happening this Friday August 17th. Each month they tailor the event around the astrological sign of the time by bringing guest djs and hosts that are celebrating a birthday around that time. In addition, party-goers who are the current zodiac sign don't have to pay cover. It all goes down at Medusa Lounge(21st & Chestnut), which with it's hole-in-the-wall feel and unique art, is the perfect place to give Zodiac it's basement party vibe.

This Friday it's on again and it's all about the Leo's. Resident djs Roxy and Nex Millen will be playing alongside guest selectors DJ Caliph-Now and DJ Razor Ramon. On the microphone will be mc Illit. Musically, they will keep you dancing to the sounds of hiphop, reggae, funk, soul, and more. Oh yeah... I can't forget that they will have someone on hand to give you an astrology reading.
