Lots of "golden age" hiphop icons have been coming through Philly lately. This Friday, we are lucky enough to have Large Professor in Philly to dj along with DJ Ultraviolet for this month's Living Legends party at Fluid Nightclub. If you are a long time hiphop fan, this is the place to be.
Large Professor is one of the underappreciated legends of hiphop. He stepped into the rap world by making beats for Eric B. & Rakim. Then went on to produce and perform with his own group Main Source, who created the classic album "Breaking Atoms". He is credited with discovering Nas, who first appeared on Main Source's hit "Live at the BBQ". After Main Source broke up, he continued to record as a solo artist and produce tracks for Busta Rhymes, Jurassic 5, Gangstarr, and more. These days you can find him traveling around on the dj circuit, as well as, in the studio still making classic beats.
